Pirates pitcher Ryan Vogelsong carted off after being hit in the face with pitch
The Pirates' pitcher appeared to take the ball off his left cheek
There's one matinee on Monday, with the Rockies and Pirates making up a rainout in PNC Park. And unfortunately there was a scary moment early. Pirates starting pitcher Ryan Vogelsong was hit in the face with a Jordan Lyles pitch. Some still photos, which are, again, scary.
Ryan Vogelsong was hit in the head w/ a pitch and carted off the field in the 2nd.

The video:
As noted, Vogelsong was carted off the field while covering his face with a towel. All the Pirates have said is that he suffered a left eye injury and is at the hospital. Further updates won't be available until Tuesday.
